Ibiza to host pilot club events for 2,000 people

A pilot club event is due to take place in Ibiza at the end of this month for approximately 2,000 people.

The regional government approved the proposal of the Balearic clubs, resuming negotiations after a year of silence.

Eivissa Leisure Assocation director, José Luis Benítez, has confirmed that the trial show is scheduled to take place on Friday 25 June or Friday 2 July 2021.

The location has yet to be announced, but it will definitely be outdoors.

The capacity will be limited to 2,000 people, but no more than 500 people will be admitted to the dance floor at the same time. Masks must also be worn at all times.

Before entering the venue, participants will have to confirm that they have already had a coronavirus or received a vaccine. Otherwise, they will have to undergo a quick antigen test, which will be paid for by the venue.

This pilot event in Ibiza is critical to understanding the near future of nightclubs in Ibiza.

The government is aware of the importance of club life for the region and country. Over the past 6 weeks, there have been no deaths due to COVID-19 in Ibiza, therefore the forecasts are very optimistic.
